In this post, you are going to discover step by step exactly how to make your first $1000 per month online starting from scratch.

I know as humans we are easily distracted but I urge you to just block out a few minutes to read this post.

But Why $1000 Per Month?
Well, there are two main reasons why this post is about making $1000 per month as opposed to another figure.
The first reason: When I first made the decision to become a full-time internet marketer, my main objective was to make $1000 per month.
This was back in 2008 – 2009. At the time, making $1k a month would be enough to put a dent in my bills and cover my monthly expenses.
I had recently graduated from university with a BSc in Chemistry and Molecular Biology and I was job hunting. But as luck would have it, my first two job interviews didn’t go as planned.
I say “Luck” because if I had landed a job from one of those interviews, I probably would have still been in the corporate world working a 9-5.
And you would have never gotten the chance to have the blueprint that you are about to discover.
It’s funny how the world works right?
And the second reason: I personally feel that when you touch the 4 figures a month mark, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. Then it’s just a matter of replicating a few processes to grow your income to the next level.
Anyhow, without getting into too much chit-chat, let’s get into the details of how you can make your first $1,000 per month online.
How To Make Your First $1000 Online Starting From Scratch
There are many ways to make money online.
But if you’ve been on my blog for any amount of time, you’ll know that I absolutely love affiliate marketing.
So it will come as no surprise that the method that I’ll be focusing on in this post is Affiliate Marketing.
If you are just visiting for the first time, here’s what affiliate marketing is:
Affiliate Marketing is when you promote a product or service for a merchant who pays you a commission whenever your referral makes a purchase.
In simple terms, it is referral marketing.
You’ll tell someone about a product that you love and give them the unique affiliate link that you’ll get from the affiliate program for the specific product so that they can purchase the product. Once they do so, you’ll earn a commission.
The beauty of affiliate marketing is that it is a great business model for newbie entrepreneurs.
Some of the benefits of affiliate marketing include:
- Low startup cost
- No need to create your own products or services
- No need to handle any form of customer services
- You can sell a variety of products
- It has high-profit potential.
- Normally (most) has a pre-built sales funnel
- You only need to get traffic to your affiliate link
Basically, all you have to do is to align a person who has a problem – with a product or service that offers the solution.
Now that you know the method that we’ll focus on, let’s get into the practical steps that you can take to set you your own internet-based business so that you can start generating an income sooner than later.
Step #1 – Breakdown Your Monthly Goal Into Daily Goals
If you’ve never made a penny online before it can be very intimidating to look at a goal of $1,o00 per month.
Have you ever heard the saying: you have to creep before you walk?
It simply means that you have to learn the basics first, you have to start a bit at a time, and you can’t get ahead of yourself. Just like a little baby has to creep before he/she starts walking.
This is especially true when it comes to generating a consistent income online. Instead of looking at a gigantic goal of making $1,000, let’s break it down into smaller chunks.
Let’s Look At The Numbers
One Month = ~ 30 Days
Monthly Goal = $1,000 in 30 days.
So $1000/30 = $33.33 Which is roughly $34
That’s it.
You just need to focus on making 34 dollars per day and you will be making $1000 per month.
The question now is, how do you generate $34 per day consistently to hit your monthly goal?
It is one thing to make a sale every now and then, here and there but it is a totally different story to generate sales on a consistent basis.
And the truth is, the only way you are going to change/transform your life is when you have a steady and predictable stream of income coming in every single month.
So how do you do that?
Well, there are two main ingredients necessary to become successful online with affiliate marketing.
- You need a high-converting offer to sell/promote and
- You need to send targeted traffic to that offer.
This brings us to the next step.
Step #2 – Choose A High-Quality Product/Service To Promote
It is very important that you choose the right products to promote if you want o make money for the long term.
You should NEVER promote a product just for the sake of making a quick buck. Always put your audience’s needs first!
Which means you need to promote high-quality products that meet the need of your audience to a certain degree. That is, the product should take them closer to their desired end result.
At the same time, you also don’t want to promote a product that barely pays any commissions. The reality is, you are running a business and you need to make a profit.
Keep in mind that if your goal is to make $1000 per month then promoting a product that pays $100 per sale will get you to your goal 3 times as fast as a product that pays $34.
With a product that pays a $100 commission, you’ll only need 10 sales while you’ll need 30 sales of a $34 product to hit your goal.
How To Find A Good Product To Promote
There are a ton of affiliate networks that you can join to find high-quality products in a variety of niches. However, here are a few of my favorite networks.

Now let’s use Clickbank as an example to show you how you could go about finding a product to promote.
First, go here to signup for an account if you don’t already have one. It’s 100% Free!
Once you’ve signed up, you can now go to the affiliate marketplace to search for products.
Make sure to click on the advanced option so that you can set certain criteria for the products you want to promote. (see image below).
When you are on the advanced screen, you can search by a keyword or select a certain category. For example, if you are into health and fitness, you can select that to see the products that are in that category.
If you are just starting out and you don’t have a niche in mind, you can simply leave the ‘keyword‘ and ‘category’ sections blank.
I also like to sort by a minimum gravity of 20 and a minimum commission of $50.
This way you’ll weed out most of the products that are not generating sales and the ones that pay a low commission per sale.
By the way, gravity is just an indication of how many affiliates have made at least 1 sale for the product in the past 30 days. This means that a minimum gravity of 20 suggests that at least 20 affiliates are already having success with these products.
This will return several products that you could potentially promote.
But you also have the option of just going through the different categories until you find a product that pays a decent commission and seems to be of high quality.
NOTE: The reason I say “seems to be” above is due to the fact that you’ll only know for sure is if you have access to the product.
Normally I would recommend that you purchase the product yourself if you are 100% sure you are going to promote it. However, this can be a challenge if you are on a low budget.
A way to get around this is hurdle is to send the product owner an email telling them that you are going to promote their product and you’d like to get review access.
Make sure to outline your strategy and how you plan to promote the product to let the owner see that you are a serious affiliate and not just someone looking to get a free product.
Step #3 – Setup Your Traffic And Conversion Engine
It’s easy for most people to find a good offer to promote.
But getting targeted traffic is where a LOT of persons struggle.
Without traffic, you are pretty much doomed to fail because no one will be seeing the offers that you are promoting. And as you can imagine, if no one sees your offer then no one is buying which means ZERO income!
To be frank, there are many ways to drive traffic but one of the easiest and fastest ways to generate targeted traffic – especially for free is from Youtube.
Youtube is the second largest search engine and they are also owned by the first largest – GOOGLE.
You can rank your videos both on the Youtube platform and Google to get highly targeted eyeballs, aka people who are interested in what you have to offer.
Okay – let me just clear the air before we move on.
I can feel your blinders activating so let me just say this right now:
You Don’t Have To Be On Camera To Be Successful With Affiliate Marketing With Youtube.
Yes, Youtube is a video platform but being on camera is not the only way to create high-converting videos that turn viewers into sales. In fact, I am in a ton of different niches, and it would be impossible for me to be on camera and be an “expert” in all these niches.
So if you are shy like me and the thought of being on camera scares you, don’t worry because you are about to discover how to create videos that convert viewers into sales without ever being on camera or using your own voice.
But First, You Need To Create Your Youtube Channel
Normally I would recommend that you create an affiliate sales funnel to capture your viewer’s info so that you can serve them and market to them over and over.
However, this guide is to get your feet off the ground and make your first $1000 per month without having too many expenses that will eat up your budget. As a result, all you’ll be doing is creating videos and then direct linking to the product you are promoting.
At this stage, you do not need to create a website. And if you are really on a tight budget, you don’t even have to get a domain name either. You can use a free URL Cloaker such as bit.ly to hide your affiliate links.
Once you start generating commissions, then you’ll be able to reinvest and pay for the tools and resources that you need.

Creating A Branded Youtube Channel
Getting a ton of views on Youtube is more than simply uploading a video and “hoping” for the best. You have to be strategic in what you are doing in order to stand out from the crowd and maximize your results.
The easiest way to do that is to create a BRANDED Youtube channel in a certain niche.
The benefits of a branded Youtube Channel includes:
- You get to stand out from the thousands of other Youtube channels.
- Your channel will gain authority very quickly.
- Your channel will be seen as an expert in your niche.
- You’ll be able to rank faster for your keywords
- You’ll get recommended more often by the Youtube Algorithm.
Your objective is to build an authoritative channel in your niche covering different topics and giving a ton of value to your audience.
When you have a channel that has a lot of authority, over time it will become much easier to rank your videos. Therefore it is essential to create a ‘Branded Channel’ that stands out.

Finding The Right Keywords For Your Videos
After you have created your branded Youtube channel, the next step is obviously to start creating content.
But what should you create content about?
Well, this is where Youtube Keyword research comes into play. Before you create your first video, you need to know EXACTLY what your potential audience is searching for.
These are the terms that they will search for on YouTube – the EXACT terms that you’ll want to rank your youtube videos for. You can’t simply upload a video with a random keyword and “hope” that the right persons will find your video.
That would be a recipe for disaster.
You need to be intentional with the keywords you want to rank for so that the persons you are targeting will find your videos. These are the persons who are more likely to get into your affiliate sales funnel and convert to a sale.
You have to remember that at the end of the day, you are running a business. So it is more than just getting ‘views’, you have to get the right views!
For Example:
Let’s say you are in the weight loss niche. Then the first thing you need to do is to figure out what someone who wants to lose weight would search for.
But’s here’s the thing, not everyone that wants to lose weight is willing and able to pay for a product to solve their problem. This means you have to target persons that are later on in the buying cycle.

Keyword #1 – How to lose weight fast
Keyword #2 – Best Diet Pill To Lose Weight Fast
Now tell, me, which of the above two keywords are more likely to be searched by someone looking to buy a product?
If you say keyword #2 you are correct. While keyword #1 can indeed turn into a sale, it is safe to say that keyword #2 is the winner here. It is specific in the sense that we know exactly what the person is looking for.
They likely want to purchase a diet pill but just need a bit of guidance on which product to buy.

Step #4 – Creating Your High Converting Videos
Okay, so at this point we have a few things going:
- You have a daily goal of $34 minimum in affiliate commissions.
- You have to choose a high-quality product to promote.
- You have to find the right keywords to target with Youtube videos
And now we get to the part that scares a lot of persons: creating videos that actually convert into sales!
Most people are scared to start a Youtube channel because they think that they have to be talented and charismatic on camera.
But what if I told you that you don’t even need to be on camera?
Would you believe me?
If you have the personality and you love to be on camera then that is amazing.
But if you don’t, that doesn’t stop you from creating high-converting videos that provide value to your audience and also recommend products that they’ll gladly buy.
The most important factor when creating your videos is to ensure that they provide value.
That simply means that they must provide a solution or answer the question that is on your viewers’ minds.
How Do You Create Videos Without Being On Camera?
For this step, I personally use a tool known as Vidnami.

Step #5 – Promoting Your Videos
If you are just starting out with Youtube, chances are no one knows about your channel. This simply means that if you just upload your videos and do nothing else – well your chances of success will be very slim.
You see, unlike larger channels that naturally get a lot of views, you’ll have to spend some extra time to promote your videos so that you can get more views which will eventually lead to more sales.
Steps You Can Take To Promote Your Videos:
1. Firstly, make sure that every video you upload has proper SEO. Read this post to learn more about how to do that – This will get your videos ranking on Youtube and Google for specific keywords.
2. Create a Pinterest account and create 3-5 images and pin your videos – This can drive traffic from Pinterest to your videos on Youtube.
3. Join groups related to your niche on Facebook and offer value there and get permission from the moderators to post your videos.
4. Answer related questions on Quora.com and embed your videos there!
The above are just a handful of things you can do to get the word out about your videos. That should keep you busy for now as you don’t want to spread yourself too thin.
The more things you have to do, the less you’ll actually get done. So just focus on a handful of tasks every day.

Step #6 – Being Consistent And Taking Action Every Single Day
Every now and then you may create a video that blows up and get a ton of views and generate a ton of sales.
However, that’s not the norm!
You must understand that if you want to make $1000 per month starting from scratch, it is going to take some amount of work and dedication.
The reality is, you never know which one of your videos is going to blow up. But the more videos you create, the more your chances of blowing up increases.
My recommendation is that you aim for at least 3-5 videos per week.
After a couple of weeks, you’ll have several videos getting views and sending traffic to your affiliate offers. And if you follow a proven script and you promote the right products, then you should also be generating some sales.
Then it is just a matter of momentum before you’re hitting $1000 a month and beyond.

I’ll be the first to tell you that there are many ways to make money online. However, affiliate marketing and especially with Youtube is one of the easiest methods you can get started with.
I just showed you step by step how to start making at least $1K per month starting from scratch. It’s not that hard but you have to take action daily to reap the results.
Don’t expect to upload 5 videos and start banking right away.
The truth is, you are going to make mistakes. But the smart thing to do is to learn from them, re-adjust and start again. Once you have a system working for you, then you can focus on growth and automation.
